Our Story
We are Rounded Cube, a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team formed in 2020. We are composed of passionate technology leaders, determined to make a difference in our community with our STEM skills. We strive to continuously grow and improve our technical skills by building and programming a competitive robot for each FIRST season and connecting with professionals in the STEM field.
Team Formation
In the Spring of 2020, our successful FIRST® LEGO® League season came to an abrupt halt. We were the FIRST® LEGO® League Global Innovation Award nominee from the Illinois region along with an invitation to the 2020 FLL Razorback Open when the world shut down due to the pandemic.
We took this opportunity of the break in the action to research how to start a FIRST Tech Challenge team and jumped right into action with several outreach initiatives to help our community with the STEM skills we have learned from participating in FIRST.
We have stayed together ever since, increasing the diversity on our team, growing our technical skills, mentoring younger students, and sharing our love for STEM.

Our goal now, is to setup a framework of sustainable robotics teams serving students from Prek- 12th grade and feeding into each other to ensure that Rounded Cube continues to thrive and grow long after the founding team members have graduated from the FIRST program.
